To get rid or decrease anxiety symptoms naturally, Ayurveda is the best option, and has been for the past 5000 years. Anxiety tends to be a result of terminal exhaustion, especially due to the increase/need to be busier in this day and age. The body becomes physiologically exhausted, the mind and the body need energy to stabilize moods and to keep the mind body connection in balance.

Anxiety and Ayurveda

In Ayurveda, anxiety is classified as Citto Udvega, and is also normally linked with toxin accumulation in the body, as well as exhaustion. The toxins are caused by negative emotions, causing negative imbalances, and thus, toxins. We need to bring the body and mind back into balance. A vata imbalance is normally the culprit of anxiety, but is influenced by many different factors (e.g. stress, diet, toxins, and digestion) and body types, and thus different ayurvedic treatments are given to each individual.

Ayurvedic Herbal Treatments for Anxiety

There are several methods for tackling anxiety, each made unique to the individual, and combined can correct the imbalances in the mind. It includes dincharya (daily routine), meditation, yoga and specific to the individual herbal capsules. Other elements from ayurvedic lifestyle are also included, for example food recipes, spices, shirodhara, and ayurvedic massage.

Shirodhara is the process of pouring liquids over the forehead of the individual. It can include oil, buttermilk, coconut water, and so on…depending on the client’s needs and unique treatment requirements. It is also used to treat many other ailments other than anxiety.

Also used is Shirobasti, where the oils used (again, specific to the person, and also medicated) are kept on the head for a prescribed period of time using a cap.

Furthermore, Nasya can be used to clear the respiratory tract and head. The drugs are administered through the nasal cavity and is a Panchakarma treatment. Panchakarma is known for increasing overall health and contains five actions, Nasya being one of them.

Bramhi Herb for Anxiety

Brahmi is a plant that is used in Ayurveda for anxiety, and many other ailments. It’s shown to increase brain chemicals associated with thinking, learning and memory and overall rejuvenation of the brain. It provides clarity, so you feel more on top of things and there is more chemical balance in your brain.

Brahmi aids in circulation, and for nourishing the nerve cells in the brain. The herb is normally served as a tea or as capsules, and is available at the Pure Herbal Ayurved Clinic, here in Melbourne. Furthermore, it is also shown to remove the toxins that have built up from the negative energy, thus regaining the mind-body balance again.

Consultation for Anxiety

All of this, and more, can be prescribed after a full consultation with the clinic’s experienced and very qualified practitioners. They will assess what caused your anxiety, its level, how it may be affecting your everyday life, and what your body type is. All of this information is gathered so that a specific treatment regimen can be implemented and a unique herbal capsule made, exclusively for your condition.
