Herbal Cure of Enlarge Prostate

A number of men in their fifties suffer from prostate troubles of one form or the other. The prostrate gland is a male gland which is shaped like a large chestnut .It is situated at the base of the urinary bladder and at the beginning of the urethra.

There are various types of prostrate disorders, the most common being hypertrophy or enlargement of the prostrate gland, and prostatitis or inflammation in the prostate gland.

According to Ayurveda, prostate enlargement is caused due to imbalance of ‘apana vata’ which is responsible for excretory functions in the human body. Gokshura, gudochi and shilajith are well known herbal remedies which are used to treat this condition.

Brihathyadi kashayam, veerathardi kashayam and punarnavadi kashayam are generally prescribed by Ayurveda experts to solve this problem. As men get older, an enlarged prostate can be the most common cause of their urinary symptoms.

It can cause the urethra to narrow, which may cause the following symptoms:

  • Weak urine flow
  • Need to urinate more often, especially at night
  • Feeling that the bladder has not emptied properly
  • Difficulty when urinating
  • Dribbling urine
  • Need to rush to the toilet or occasional leakage
  • Blood in the urine

One may only have few of these symptoms or all of them. If this problem is not treated in time, it can get worse. Causes of this problem may be many, but it can be treated effectively through Ayurveda. Listed below are some herbal remedies offered by Ayurveda:

Diet Recommendations in Enlarge Prostate:

Prostate enlargement is caused mainly because of an imbalance in the vata dosha. It is thus, important to avoid vata-aggravating foods. It is recommended to intake foods like wheat, rice, milk, tomatoes, citrus fruits and yoghurt.

Intake of spicy and bitter foods should be minimized. In order to pacify the vata dosha, larger proportions of food should be eaten but it should be ensured that they can be digested easily. It is also important to intake lots of fiber in the diet with fruits and vegetables.

Life Style Recommendations in Enlarge Prostate:

It is usually suggested in such a condition that the person should not expose himself to sun or heat. This is because excessive perspiration takes away a lot of water from the body which concentrates the urine. When this concentrated urine passes through the urinary tract, it causes irritation and gives rise to a burning sensation.
