Ayurveda, the science of life and art of healing, is one of the most ancient holistic life sciences. The main purpose of Ayurveda is not only to keep the person healthy physically but mentally, and spiritually also.

It sees the body, mind, and spirit as interrelated to each other, hence; it aims at the overall health and well-being of the person. Each person is seen as an individual and treated in the same way. The treatment is specific with the concerned person addressing specific health problems.

Ayurvedic massage is a core component of these treatments which aids in opening up body’s energy paths, enhancing body fluid circulation, activating the lymphatic system, regulating the digestive systems, strengthening bones, muscles and blood vessels, improving body and skin tone and revitalizing the body’s self-healing mechanisms.

Let us look at some of the benefits of Ayurveda Treatments in detail below:

Benefits Of Ayurvedic Treatments

  • Anti-aging (Jarahar)- This treatment includes daily massaging of the spine, soles of feet, and head with almond oil which helps to increase virility and semen. There are seven important components that make up the human body include the Hormones (Rasa), Rakta (Blood, fluids and lymph), Tendon of nerves (Medha), Flesh (Mamsa), Marrow (Majja), Bones, teeth, and nails (Asthi) and Semen or ovum (Shukra). Regular or daily massaging of all these components is effective in balancing mind, body, soul and maintaining health and vitality.
  • Reduction of Fatigue (Shramahar)- Fatigue is the most common symptoms of physical stress and mental strain. This fatigue can really affect the muscle health and cause tension. The most effective way of removing the fatigue is rubbing, squeezing and patting the muscles.
  • Reduction of the Humor of Vata (Vatahar) - The Humour consists of four chief fluids namely, blood, phlegm, yellow and black bile. All these are very crucial in determining the physical as well as mental qualities of a person. Constant massage helps in providing relief from the problems arising from Vata irregularities.
  • Improves eyesight (Darsanakar)- Massage helps in preventing eye diseases and keeping the blindness away. It also helps in improving the eyesight. For this, the feet should be massaged especially under the spine, big toe, neck and head.
  • Body Strengthener (Pushtikar) - Rubbing, kneading, pressing of the body increases and improves the circulation of important fluids throughout the body and strengthening the whole body system.
  • Longevity (Ayushkar) - Massaging the important parts of body on regular basis increases the longevity of one’s life.
  • Sleep Induction (Swapnakar) - Even an ordinary massage of the head and feet can induce sleep. This is a very effective treatment recommended for people suffering from insomniacs.
  • Twakdahritakar (Skin Strengthener) - Regular massaging is necessary to keep the skin strong, smooth and shining. Dry skin is the result of Vata Dosha. However, the skin dryness can also result from worries and anxieties or due to dry or chilly weather.
  • Tolerance against Diseases (Klesha Sahatwa)- Massaging can improve immunity and its resistance against diseases. Massaging stimulates the production of certain antibiotics along with strengthening the seven components of human body.
  • Tolerance against Injuries (Abhihat Sahatwa)- Regular massage helps in recovering from the injuries and diseases much faster as compared to person who does get a  massage done regularly.
  • Protection against Phlegm and Wind Ailments (Kapha/ Vata Nirodhaka)- Massage works as a preventive measure against all the ailments caused by Vata and Kapha disorder.
  • Skin Strengthener and Healthy Color Enhancing (Mriga Varna Balaprada)- Massage helps in improving the complexion, color, texture, and strength of the skin.
