Chandraprabha Vati is an Ayurvedic rejuvenative formulation that has been trationally used for its beneficial effects for the treatment of diabetes mellitus, urinary and kidney diseases, abdominal and liver diseases, male and female diseases related to reproductive system, diseases of joints and skin diseases.
Chandraprabha vati has few variaitons in its formulation, based on different Ayurveda Textbook. Some Ayurveda Pharmaceutical companies use Iron in the preparation of Chandraprabah vati along with plants based ingredients.
Other Ayurveda Pharmaceutical companies like AVP (Arya Vaidya Pharmacy) from Kerala, India, do not add iron content or any other ehavy metals while preparing Chandraprabha vati for export to Australia. As Australia does not allow and support the use of heavy metals in Ayurvedic medicine.
This Ayurveda formulation is mainly derived from plant based ingredients. It may contain the root, bark, leaves, seeds, fruits etc. The main ingredients of Chandraprabha Vati are Commiphora mukul, bambusa bambos extract, Operculina turpethum, Baliospermum montanum, Cinnamomum tamala, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Elettaria cardamomum, Cyperus rotundus, Andrographis paniculata, Tinospora cordifolia, Piper longum etc.
Ayurveda Pharmacological action of Chandraprabha Vati
Chandraprabha Vati acts on all three humours of the body. It pacifies vata and pitta and assuages the kapha humour. In addition, it is rejuvenative agent in Ayurvedic medicine, which is used to preserve proper bodily function and to rectify metabolism.
In diabetes mellitus, when blood glucose increased from its limits, you may have sugar in urine. In this condition, Chandraprabha Vati has been useful in balancing the blood glucose levels.
There is no side effects mentioned in Ayurvedic texts or reported by clients as such from prescribed therapeutic dosage of this preparation. It is advisable that Ayurvedic medicine and treatment are generally considered to be safe when taken under the supervision and guidance of an Ayurvedic Doctor, but rarely may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.
