Ayurveda treatment consists of the herbs and remedies that may lower the blood sugar levels by reducing insulin resistance and correcting the insulin secretion. Furthermore, some strengthening herbs and rejuvenation Ayurvedic medicines may also help to stop weight loss. Diabetes is referred as "Prameh" in Ayurveda.
Ayurveda Treatment pathway for Diabetes includes a complete health analysis of the imbalance of doshas and body constitution of the patient. Once this has been determined, a variety of herbal combinations are formulated accordingly. The treatment also includes regular blood sugar monitoring, healthy diet and lifestyle. It is recommended that your herbal treatments should also be discussed with your medical professional to ensure you are not at risk of too much reduction in blood sugar level especially if you are also taking conventional oral hypoglycaemic agents, as the combination sometimes may lead to hypoglycaemia.
A herbal formulation for diabetes mellitus is usually based on the herbs that may possess the potency to reduce insulin resistance and or increases insulin production from the pancreas.
