The Ayurvedic Concept of Eczema or Dermatitis

As per ayurvedic principles, eczema is essentially an aggravation of pitta dosha. Pitta mainly emanates from the skin and it heats up the toxin and creates ama. Ayurveda believes that it is these heated toxins which end up accumulating on the body tissues. Owing to this action, the toxins penetrate in a lot deeper level and leads to eczema.

Ayurveda believes that to treat eczema, pitta must be pacified and to do so, one would need to improve the digestive system of the body and cleanse the toxins out from your body.
