Kaisore gulgulu vatika is an Ayurveda formulation used traditionally for gout and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also beneficial in sinusitis, piles, itches, boils, skin diseases etc.
The main ingredients of kaisore gulgulu vatika are terminalia chebula, terminalia bellerica, phyllanthus emblica, tinospora cordifolia, commiphora mukul, black pepper, long pepper, ginger.
According to Ayurveda, Kaisore gulgulu vatika mitigates kapha and calms the vata and pitta humors. It is used in gout because of its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It helps to reduce inflammation and alleviates pain and swelling.
Furthermore, it is also aims to decrease blood level of uric acid. If it is taken with manjisthadi kashayam for around a period of three months, it may treat recurrent gout and prevent recurrent gouty attacks.
In addition, Kaisore gulgulu vatika is widely prescribed Ayurvedic formulation in skin diseases. It mitigates itches and reduces skin inflammations. Therefore, it is beneficial in various diseases in which itching are prominent symptom.
It augments the speed of recovery from boils, eczema and dermatitis. It is well known that wound healing is delayed in diabetic patient. Kaisore gulgulu vatika tends to increase wound healing time in diabetes mellitus by lowering blood glucose levels and decreases its effects on the skin.
There is no side effect mentioned in Ayurvedic texts or reported by a client as such from therapeutic use of this preparation. It is advisable that Ayurvedic medicine and treatment are generally considered to be safe when taken under the supervision and guidance of an Ayurvedic Doctor, but rarely may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.
