Kalyanaka Ghrita is an Ayurvedic preparation and medicated ghee used in the treatment of brain and diseases of nervous system. It is an Ayurvedic remedy used traditionaly for thousands of years for the treatment of epilepsy, memory loss, hallucinations and mental retardation. It may also beneficial in general debility, asthma and abdominal diseases.
The main ingredients of Kalyanaka Ghrita are clarified cow’s butter, Indian valerian, Indian gooseberry, Indian sarsaparilla, three myrobalans, cardamom, Wild cherry, Himalayan cedar, Indian madder, Sandalwood etc.
Kalyanaka Ghrita pacifies vata and pitta humours of the body. Therefore, it is used to improve memory and intelligence. It may also be used in other neurological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s diseases due to its protective effects towards brain.
It is also general brain and body tonic. Therefore, it is also helpful in general debility and fatigue, stress, memory loss, anaemia etc.
There is no side effect mentioned in Ayurvedic texts or reported by a client as such from therapeutic use of this preparation. It is advisable that Ayurvedic medicine and treatment are generally considered to be safe when taken under the supervision and guidance of an Ayurvedic Doctor, but rarely may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.
