This Ayurveda formulation is mainly derived from plant based ingredients. It may contain the root, bark, leaves, seeds, fruits etc.  The main ingredients in Kanchanar Guggulu are Bauhinia variegate, Emblica officinalis, Terminalia bellerica, Terminalia chebula, Zingiber officinale, Commiphora mukul, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum, Elettaria cardamomum, Piper longum, Piper nigrum and Crataeva nurvala.

Kanchanar Guggulu is effective to pacify kapha humor in the body. It helps to reduce and shrink the sze of excess or unwanted nodules, hence is useful in reducing nodules of goiter. It also balances thyroid hormones so can be prescribed in hypothyroidism. Kanchanar Guggulu also shows detox effect in lymphatic system. It aids in elimination of toxins from it.
