Kottamchukkadi thailam is ayurvedic formulations used for joint disorders. It is helpful in patients suffering from pain, inflammation, stiffness, swelling and numbness. It is an external application.
Tamarind juice and Saussurea lappa are main ingredients of Kottamchukkadi thailam. It is prepared and processed in sesame oil. Other ingredients are Zingiber officinalis, Acorus calamus, Moringa oliefera, Alium sativum, capparis sepiaria, Cedrus deodara and Pluchea lanceolata.
As per ayurveda, it pacifies the vata and reduces swelling due to various diseases. It is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic in action. However, it is used only as external application over the affected areas. By its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, it reduces pain fast and aids in recovery from arthritic or rheumatic problems.
There are no known side effects with this oil.
