Lohasavam

 

 

Lohasava is a natural iron supplement in Ayurveda used in anaemia. Pallor skin, improper digestion and fatigue are usually associated with anaemia. Lohasava is beneficial in these symptoms of anaemia. It provides strength to the body and reduces general fatigue. It is also useful in cases of flatulence, abdominal distension, piles and ascites.

 

 

Main Ingredients of Lohasavam:

 

 

Naturally derived Iron ashes as the main ingredient in Lohasava. However, its potency is increased by processing with herbs. Zingiber officinale, Terminalia bellirica, Phyllanthus emblica, Terminalia chebula, Embelia ribes, Cyperus rotundus, Plumbago zeylanica, Piper nigrum, Piper longum are important herbal ingredients present in Lohasava.

 

 

Ayurveda Pharmacological action of Lohasava

 

 

Lohasava is a fermented formulation of iron that is processed with some herbs, which are beneficial for increasing appetite and rich in nutrients. According to ayurveda, Lohasava pacifies kapha humour mainly. It aids to detoxify micro-channels of the body by which nutrition is reach to each cells. It is also helpful in increasing appetite due to presence of appetiser herbs in it.

 

 

Lohasava is an iron supplement. It increases haemoglobin level in the blood and reduces symptoms of anaemia. It does not tend to cause abdominal discomfort or metallic taste in the mouth.

Side effects of Lohasava
