Musli khadiradi kashayam is an herbal preparation used in Ayurveda treatment of gynaecological diseases. It is available in decoction form and may be slightly bitter in taste but may show good results in leucorrhoea and excessive uterine bleeding or menorrhagia.
Curculigo orchioides, Acacia catechu, Emblica officinalis, Tribulus terrestris, Eugenia jambolana and Asparagus racemosus are main ingredients of Musli khadiradi kashayam.
Musli khadiradi kashayam pacifies all three humours and aids to keep them in balance. It helps to reduce inflammation of uterine cavity and vaginal lining. It also possesses anti-bacterial, coagulant, anti-fungal properties.
Congestion and inflammation of vaginal linings cause vaginal discharge. Leucorrhoea may have cause of bacterial infections as well. Musli khadiradi kashayam may work in conditions that cause vaginal discharge. It aim s to reduce secretions and fights off infections.
As stated, it is considered as a coagulant in action in Ayurveda, so it is can be useful in excessive uterine bleeding. Moreover, it aids to normalize hormonal secretions. Elevated oestrogen causes excessive vaginal discharge in which Musli khadiradi kashayam may be efficient.
However, some level of vaginal discharge is considered normal due to physiological condition of women body or oestrogen elevation but excess of oestrogen may cause unusual excessive discharge that need urgent medical care.
There is no side effect mentioned in Ayurvedic texts or reported by a client as such from therapeutic use of this preparation.
