It may contain the root, bark, leaves, seeds, fruits etc.  The main ingredients include: Pueraria tuberose, Ricinus communis, Gymnema sylvestre, Boerhaavia diffusa, Cedrus deodara, Teramnus labialis Spreng, Mucuna pruriens, Holostemma ada-kodien Schultes, Tribulus terrestris, Phaseolus trilobus, Asparagus racemosus, Solanum xanthocarpum are main ingredients of Vidaryadi Kashayam.

 

 

Ayurveda Pharmacological action of Vidaryadi Kashayam

 

 

Vidaryadi Kashayam calms the pitta humour and pacifies the vata aggravation. It is ideally used in decoction form, which enhances strength of the body and provides appropriated nourishment. It is rich in herbs, which has great nutritional value so it is beneficial in body weakness and disorders related to malnutrition.

 

 

It is also considered to act as a nervine tonic and helps to strengthen brain due to its presence of rich nutrients. Vidaryadi Kashayam helsp to reduce excessive production of gastric juices so it can be considered as beneficial herbal antacid.

 

 

It helps to reduces burning sensation and acidity. In addition, it can also be used in cases of peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer as it has ulcer healing powers. Moreover, it may lower tendency of bleeding and ulceration in ulcerative colitis.

 

 

Vidaryadi Kashayam contains some ingredients, which help to relax the respiratory system. It helps to dilate bronchioles and respiratory tracts so it facilitates expulsion of accumulated mucus in lungs. It has soothing effect on respiration process and it may be used and can be beneficial in asthma and cough.

 

 

There are many patients, which feel irritation in throat and suffer from coughing due to this irritation. Vidaryadi Kashayam helps to lower irritation of throat and soothens problems of cough. Vidaryadi Kashayam has property of anti-flatulent so it decreases gas formation in intestinal tract and eases passage of gas from abdomen.

 

 

Due to these characteristics, it is also efficacious in abdominal distension. It has sootheing effect the alimentary canal and facilitates passage of stool so it is used as a remdey for constipation as well.
