Vyoshadi vatakam is ayurvedic medicine used in the treatment of common cold, sore throat, cough, rhinitis and asthma.

 

Main Ingredients of Vyoshadi Vatakam

 

Black Pepper, ginger and Long pepper are the main ingredients of Vyoshadi vatakam. Other ingredients are Solena amplexicaulis, Piper chaba, Abies webbiana, Plumbago zeylanica, Cuminum cyminum, Rhus parviflora, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Elettaria cardamomum, and Cinnamomum tamala.

 

Pharmacological action of Vyoshadi Vatakam

 

Vyoshadi vatakam pacifies vata and kapha humours. It reduces inflammation of the throat and vocal cord. Therefore, it is beneficial in sore throat and inflammation of vocal cord.

 

Singers use it to enhance their capacity to sing for a long time and strengthen the vocal cord. It also has anti-allergic properties so it is beneficial in rhinitis and asthma.
