Author : Gurnam Saini

Nowadays, back pain is a common problem. It may also occur in youngsters. There may be a variety of underlying causes of backache, one of which is sciatica pain.

The sciatic nerve is a nerve traveling from the buttocks into the legs. This disease is caused due to irritation to the sciatic nerve. It is a type of neuropathic pain that may occur due to injury, compression, or sciatic nerve dysfunction.

Sciatica and Ayurveda

Sciatica is termed GRIDHRASHI in Ayurveda. The aggravation of VATA humor causes all symptoms. Constipation and cold weather may be risk factor for worsening the sciatica pain, according to Ayurveda. Ayurvedic ancient texts have described an extensive treatment of Sciatica.

Causes of Sciatica

The main cause of this disease is the irritation of the lumbar-sacral spine's roots. Other causes include:

  1. Herniated disk
  2. Degenerative disc disease

  4. Spondylolisthesis
  5. Spinal injury
  6. Overweight
  7. Irregular exercises

Symptoms of Sciatica

The following symptoms may be present :

  • A tingling sensation may be experienced by a person with Sciatica over the lower back, thighs, buttocks, and calf region.

Herbal Ayurvedic Treatment for Sciatica

Ayurveda stresses the correction of the main cause of sciatic nerve irritation. Ayurvedic medicines help correct the aggravated VATA.

  • I was suffering from headaches for the past 5-6 years which lasted more than a day. Sometimes it was so severe that I had nausea and vomiting. Tried a lot of medications but they did not help. Then I thought of trying Ayurveda as my last remedy. 2 months with Gurnam Saini and I have no headaches. My sleep has also improved. I’m still continuing to improve my overall health as the medicine seems to work for me. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone who wants to improve their overall health and well being.

  • My experience with herbal Ayurveda was positive. I found a tremendous amount of healing with this therapy after suffering from bronchitis and arthritic pain for years. The herbal massage was the best thing I ever did. I stopped my medication, the bronchitis healed and my arthritis improved remarkably. I highly recommend it and I look forward to more treatments.

  • I saw Dr Saini in July 2019 for “acid reflux” after suffering of months. I tried different medicines but didn’t work. There was a time I started believing that there was no permanent cure to this disease. Dr Saini is an authentic Ayurvedic doctor. He can do miracles for you. I honestly believe he’s a blessing for the city of Melbourne otherwise it would have been very hard to physically see an Ayurvedic doctor like him. My heart burn got worst with the time & became just unbearable. I couldn’t eat anything or sleep at all. Finally, I found him via google and peoples reviews convinced me to give him a call. He’s an angel & listens everything. He gave me a three month’s plan which I completed happily. But unbelievably my acid reflux reduced 80% within three days & completely gone in five days & it never came back since then. I’m so happy & enjoying my life like I used to. God bless Dr Saini & God bless those who wrote reviews which convinced me to give him a call first time.

  • After struggling for years with energy levels, food intolerances and sleep issues with our daughter, we tried Dr Saini. The results for her have been outstanding. Her food intolerances (she was on a strict FODMAP diet) have all but disappeared. Her sleep is consistent and better. Her ability to regulate herself across an entire day (without falling into a heap) has improved her life quality 100 fold. His approach is thoughtful and considered. We always feel like he listens to all aspects of her health and adapts his methods to what she needs next. I would highly recommend working with Dr Saini to anyone considering it.

  • Dr Saini has been so supportive in working with me to refine my mind, body and spirit to once again be able to consume gluten. Once I was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant, I thought I would never eat gluten again. But by embracing the ways of Ayurveda, I am now eating gluten on a daily basis that is pain free and discomfort free. Joseph Ferguson

  • I am very happy with the treatment and thankful for Dr.Saini. I was suffering from psoriasis for past 7 years. I never had such an improvement with any medications before. Psoriasis in my face was completed cleared in first 3 months. And almost 50% improvement in other places of my body in last one month. Ayurveda has a better impact on mind , body and soul rather than harmful anti immune tablets which is used as a medication for the condition. I really appreciate Dr.Saini for the his compassion.

  • I cannot recommend highly enough. This has been my first experience with Ayurvedic medicine and the Panchakarma cleanse and I can finally say that after years of striving for better health and wellbeing, I finally understand what is going to work for me moving forward. Having experience a traumatic event and subsequent PTSD 5 years ago, my gut and my body became increasingly compromised. In this time I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome and various ailments of the gut. I came to see Dr Saini and Pooja at a time that I felt frustrated with my years of work to see some more obvious progress with my healing. Having completed the Panchakarma cleanse, I am feeling fully renewed. Awake. Settled. I no longer struggle to wake each morning and get through each day. My appetite feels steady and all cravings have completely ceased. I now have some tools under my belt to fall back on when I know my digestive system needs a break. This cleanse has been a complete game changer. Thankyou Dr Saini and Pooja for you incredible guidance and support. Liz
